Event Manager (5 August, 2008)
Five Event Center, a new and contemporary event venue located in Uptown Minneapolis is looking to fill a full time position for an Event Manager.

• Flexible schedule, evenings required
• Previous experience in sales / event industry required
• Knowledge of bar management a plus
This position includes four main areas of responsibility:
1. Sales
a)Develop relationships with event planners and other industry professionals
b)Research and pursue new marketing opportunities in print/web/exhibits
c)Meet with prospective clients to tour the space
d)Organize and update all marketing materials
e)Respond to all inquiries by phone/email and keep track of all leads
f)Be informed about other event venues in the area
Preferred qualifications: professional, warm personality, outgoing, independent, self-motivated, organized
2. Event Management
a)Meet with clients to discuss needs of space and details of their event
b)Coordinate event with client, event planner, caterer, and other vendors, may require some creative input
c)Present at all events to oversee use of building and event timeline.
d)Generate floor plan and event checklist to be used for each event
Preferred qualifications: organized, calm, creative, non-reactive, problem solver
3. Bar Management
a)Meet with clients to discuss their beverage needs for each event
b)Maintain liquor inventory and special order requests
c)Cash management and end-of-event reconciliation
d)Schedule appropriate staff and supervise during events
Preferred qualifications: trustworthy, sound judgement, organized, accurate, assertive
4. Building Management
a)Inspect all areas of building regularly for damage/maintenance issues and resolve
b)Hire appropriate staff to keep space presentable for client tours
Preferred qualities: responsible, high aesthetic standard, knowledge of common building maintenance procedures

Serves as the hotel representative to prospective clients and customers who need to rent rooms, meeting space, food and beverage services, etc. Travels primarily outside the hotel to initiate new sales, solicit leads, holds conferences, makes sales proposals and presentations, entertain and maintain clients, answer questions, determine rates and negotiate contracts. Develops sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed established revenue and room night goals. Two years previous hotel sales experience required. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Assistant Catering Manager, Minneapolis Club (10 June 08)
The Minneapolis Club is looking for a candidate to fill the assistant catering manager position. The Minneapolis Club offers a great work environment with professional co-workers and members who are wonderful to assist in planning events. Events are predominately corporate driven with some social events. The Club has a desire to increase the social market.
This is a full-time position which includes a Monday through Friday schedule with some weekend requirements. Compensation is negotiable depending upon previous experience.
